Asus DSL-AC56U - the gigabit WAN router reviewed

This comes across very much like an advertorial rather than an actual review.
 
I bought the 68U that has a USB3 port BUT it is useless - at best a USB2.5 port so don't bank on USB3 - anyway they dis-able as default as it forks the 2.4G WiFi....... go figure

Get a Zyxell for VDSL/ADSL connect to Ubiquiti Wifi

There you have a better setup for half the price

Or pop in a mikrotik and go advance.

Nope, Telkom just enabled the ability/protocol on their network which enabled ADSL2+ to go up to 20Mbps. Which ADSL2+ was able to do from the beginning.

So you aren't using VDSL, you are using ADSL2+.

I have a Huawei adsl router and a d-link dsl 2750u,both give me streaming issues with high bitrate files to my chromecast(using plex) or if more than one person is streaming at once,you seem clued up whats the best/cheapest way to sort this out,don't wanna spend too much but needs to be future proof also for wifi needs anyway.

Having some control over who gets what speed of wifi would be cool too.Kids streaming full hd cartoons on their tabs just doesn't make sense as those cartoons look the same at 720p or 480p.

Yeah it works because telkom allows your router to use 20mb/s adsl but its not VDSL,I'm using the same but upload speeds are slower than proper vdsl with a vdsl modem.

If it was mean I'll go ethernet from the adsl to a ubiquity WiFi router

So basically use the hauwie as a modem and let all the devices communicate through the ubiquity

That thing is a beast
