Hi Guys

Ive noticed that Neotel Fibre is much more expensive then Telkom...

Any comments on the 2 ISP's?

Neotel Fibre is targeting businesses. Their SLAs and contentions are more suited for business.

Are you comparing apples with apples?

Which specific products are your comparing to each other? Neotel Business Fibre with Telkom Residential Fibre? Then there will be a big difference...

EDIT: pipped by oober :p

No No... Business Fibre to each other...

We have 2 offices that are connected to each other but as the JHB office is growing we have noticed the speeds between the offices have dropped. We currently have 2 x 10meg lines in Durban and a 4meg line in JHB ( Telkom cant go faster here )

We have a few National Plus Telscum connections which we use to service various clients, and we also have Telkom breakout. The Telkom Breakout is expensive, but it works well enough most of the time. We have 1 single client on Neotel, and my experience after that installation is that the Neotel pings were pretty crap compared to my Telkom connection. They also provided the breakout.

Installations on Telkom is always a pain. Very few clients where we have not waited over a year for install. Our project manager has had to expand his dictionary section: swearing multiple times because of them.

Neotel install was also quite a lengthy project, but it was also in one of those middle of nowhere border of elsewhere places.

So summary: Telkom is a pain, but works well, and never/if ever/rarely breaks.

Neotel: Pings are worse than Telkom.

PS. This is all business provisioning, not FTTH.
