Mweb new fibre pricing [on Vumatel's Joburg network]

Sigh guys.

I left the thread because I thought you guys would figure it out:

MWEB has decreased prices and increased cap sizes on its fibre to the home (FTTH) accounts that run on Vumatel’s infrastructure in Johannesburg.

Now compare URLs:

http://www.mweb.co.za/internet-connection/fibre/vumatel/ftth-packages.aspx

http://www.mweb.co.za/internet-connection/fibre/telkom/ftth-packages.aspx

If you mouse over the areas here you can see which are Vumatel areas, and which are Telkom areas:

Thank you - clarified.

So I must pay an additional R1100 for the privilege of being in Cape Town.

The one perk Telkom infrastructure has is that you can use any ISP.

So you can contact Crystal Web, or Web Africa or anyone really.

You could even get the Fibre from Telkom with a tiny 10GB cap for backup purposes and get any normal ADSL account to run on the line.

So my first thought of different fibre provider was correct?

You do realize that VUMA also has different ISP's on their network, and the reason MWEB had to drop their price/increase the cap was because they can not compete with the other ISP's on the VUMA network. In fact, even their new pricing does not compare
