Star Wars: science fact vs fiction

Old news.

If you want scientific accuracy do not watch Star Wars. If you want to watch an entertaining space opera, watch Star Wars.

With the Leia/Jabba reaching into hentai
Am sure that Leia had some fun times with C3PO during her lonely space trips . He's a protocol droid, and probably knows 27800 different mating rituals

I do get annoyed these days when people bring up the "12 parsecs" thing with the Milennium Falcon. Han actually boasts that it achieves 1.5x light speed and completes the Kessel run in 12 parsecs. While it was moulded after the fact, this is scientifically accurate - making the Kessel run requires smuggers to maneouvre around a black hole on their journey from the planet Kessel, while jumping in and out of hyperspeed because they have to avoid collisions with other objects in space and make course adjustments, as well as minimising the effects of time dilation. Because the Falcon is among the fastest ships in the galaxy, it can cut closer to the black hole and reduce the total distance traveled during the smuggling run.

I find it funny that the movies haven't addressed how much time the characters spend at hyperspeed, extending their actual ages hugely. Because he continues to smuggle things, Han should be younger than Leia physically because she doesn't travel much at all, while his age will approach something close to a hundred years.

Edit: Now that I'm thinking about this again, it would also be beneficial to certain people to spend more time at light speed in order to effectively time travel into the future. Any of the Sith, carrying out the Master Plan, could initiate certain parts of it, leave behind capable people to do certain tasks, and jump forward into the future with hyperspeed. But doing this would require explanation for the ages of other characters in the universe, and that's a can of worms I'm sure Disney will never open and address.
