R1,000,000 prize money for Telkom Digital Gaming Masters League

So prize money is R 1 000 000 in total. But what is being spent on getting those matches broadcasted either via an online service or other?
 
I was browsing things to watch in SA online because my international connectivity was up to **** last night when I happened to come across the live stream of this announcement on ENCA.

I'm very happy about this and I'm super excited about watching the games. Telkom even mentioned that they will be broadcasting some of the games on DSTV :O

Now that would be Amazing. It's about time we have some professional gamers. What make gaming any less of a popular spectator sport than lets say Rugby or Cricket? Nothing... If anyone would just watch one CS:GO tournament game being broadcast they will understand and get hooked. e-Sports are amazing.

... doubt it'll silence the ASSIA latency victims here on MyBB though :)
 
I know they sponsored some money towards the Hearthstone tournament at rAge last year. I wonder if Hearthstone will be getting some decent exposure here too, its already the third most watched game on twitch. (behind Dota 2/LOL and Counterstrike)

You got my attention there could you please share where you found the ENCA stream. The ones I was using in the past (Roku NowhereTv & Livestream) went dead and i haven't found a new source. You can PM if you prefer it that way. Thanks

Hearthstone is awesome. I'm struggling to get past rank 5 though. My brother hits legend quite frequently
 
this is great news. However if telkom does not improve their infrastructure esports will not grow in SA. if more people have access to affordable internet more people will play and contribute. And fibre internet will do that (cheaper to install vs copper and wont get stolen)
