Zuma to pay back the money for Nkandla

President Jacob Zuma has proposed an end to the drawn-out legal controversy regarding the public protector’s March 2014 report on Nkandla: ‘Secure in Comfort’, the Presidency said in a statement on Tuesday evening.

“While President Zuma remains critical of a number of factual aspects and legal conclusions in the report, he proposes a simple course to implement what the public protector recommended as remedial action contained in the report.”

How is this any more credible than the previous time he appointed a subordinate to decide what he owes?

This raises even bigger questions, like how a virtually penniless Robben Island prisoner now has dozens if not hundreds of millions in his personal account...

+1, will SARS perform a lifestyle audit? Considering he was almost bankrupt some time back (referring to relationship with Shaiks etc).

Do parliamentarians not have to declare all their assets, investments etc?

Starting to run scared about having to appear in court?

clearly the elections coming closer, need to gather up credibility.
promising to pay the money is not yet actually paying the money

I don't believe it one bit...

Something sneaky is going to be done. He cannot be trusted.

I actually think there is a real battle on behind the scenes at Luthuli house for the president. The opening salvo was the complaint about the Guptas this week during the ANC legkotla. The fact that it came from an ANC nec member, and not casatu or sacp is telling. And how much detail was given to the media.

Think this is just Zuma trying to get in front of another hurdle, and his enemies, with this statement.

Nkandla isn't even a drop in the bucket compared to the damage this idiot did when firing Nene to get some SAA poonani.

Off Twitter:

Don't be fooled by the latest self-serving U-turn. A pickpocket that returns a half empty wallet is still a thief "

I think more delay tactics , also paying a settlement will probably work out cheaper than paying the full amount with costs.

WHAHAHAHHAHA!!!

So this is your admission of guilt?

WHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Only your voters believe your stories.

Looks like Zuma is doing this avoid another SONA debacle. It's a preemptive strike on the EFF

Pfft! He is mos buddies with the ones that are supposed to calculate the amount to be repaid.
His GF from Angola will use the PRAASA money to repay the one hundred and eleventy rand.

I sincerely hope the party that brought this action against Zumbug don't accept this plea bargain deal which will let this malevolent parasite off the hook. This scumbag needs to be convicted of corruption, nothing less! He belongs in a C-Max prison, with all the other serial law breakers.

He needs to pay kharma for incarcerating the amaThembo king.

In other news the government is trying to shift the focus on Zuma's legal woes to Malema by re-instituting a R20 million tax bill. A bill which was allegedly paid off in a 2012 deal Malema entered into with SARS.

It so obvious that this is a politically motivated scheme to screw with the EFF's election campaign. The timing is spurious.
