...in South Africa!!Got a bit excited and was about to ask how much?Anyway, out of interest how much would this "Affordable" vehicle cost here in South Africa incl.duties and taxes?

If Musk really wants to do what Hitler did & give us a genuine affordable people's car, he'd slap a electric motor & battery pack into one of these puppies..

It is expected to be $37,500. So yeah, it is in the middle range. Although, with importing it, the price will jump quite a bit here
 
I would honestly buy a Mahindra e2o if they sold them here. If they bring us electric cars that sell for below R200k and carry a subsidy (paid for by CO2 tax) I am sure we will see plenty more of them on the road.

I doubt it. I do not think poor people care as much about carbon emissions as wealthier people.
I do not believe there is much of a market for electric cars in the poorer population (As by definition they are more expensive than petrol/diesel cars)
