Finally Vumatel has arrived. Need to cancel telkom order today.

Poor Vumatel communication and website shows Bryanston at 8% sign up.

Thought I would spread the word .... anything to reduce Telkom business ....

Here is the bryanston rollout link :

p.s i dont work for vumatel ... just hate telkom :D

Hi Yagan1

Also don't work for VUMA.

Bryanston is a special case, saw it on twitter.

But be happy, you are getting fibre :D

Yeah Telkom is definitely focussing on Bryanston.

Vuma turning the world pink ;)

Dawid see our dates have pushed back again ;(

Telkom went live in Bryanston East last week. Well portions of bryanston east.

But Vuma or Telkom won't duplicate each other FTTH, the one that gets to the home first wins.

Telkom laid backhaul all around, now they just connect on request. Vumatel would need a year at least to do the same unless they get to share trunking with Telkom(lol). Vuma targets smaller areas, Telkom nailed the whole area

Not sure why anyone in this day and age would consider Telkom with Vumatel and other fibre offerings...

Telkom:
1. No Cancellation Department
2. 20 minute (best case scenerio) wait for support
3. Exhorbant prices for 50gig soft cap
4. Ties you into a 2 year contract.

NO THANK YOU

The fast Telkom sinks the better it is for the country

Telkom: also charges ISPs IPC prices for access.

Well you are selling over their network they paid for. It is just extremely high which is why Vuma and such can offer much better pricing.

No, you're cross-subsidising the aging copper infrastructure.

Stay on Hobart Road, can confirm that Vuma reps are coming into the complex and taking signups.

This was the explanation I was given for why the rollout in Bryanston is different:

"We are going to be rolling out in Bryanston based on sign ups and not "interest shown." So you can essentially place your order now - the lead time will just be a bit longer because you will sign up prior to the build taking place. We are engaging with residents in the area to see which part of Bryanston has the highest rate of sign ups. Bryanston is really big so this will just help us prioritise the rollout of the infrastructure."

Just spoke to the Rep for Bryanston area - Ricardo, his confirmed that they are changing - instead of using the show my interest they want users to sign up for Vumatel - apparently it require's your id - unless you stay in a complex - which you have to get 30% of the residents to sign up.
