PlayStation VR – price, launch date announced

Maybe rpm will decide to give away a few here on myBB (hint hint)........

Hefty price tag. Hopefully it's worth it.

$400 (plus camera at ~$60) isn't hefty compared to the Oculus Rift or Vive. It's one of the cheaper VR solutions, apart from the Gear VR which is in a different league (until you cost the count of the phone). I like the look of the PS VR. Apparently the screen technology they're using minimizes the screen-door effect that normally hampers VR headsets like Oculus due to your eyes being so close up, which means that you can drive a much lower resolution, such as what the PS4 can generate (the PS VR is 960x2 x 1080, making a combined resolution of 1080p BUT with it driving 3d it will effectively be lower than 1080p.)

Not coming to SA, so how would he manage that?

LOl where did you get that info from?

EDIT : Ok they said not on the list for October, so we will probably get it a month later.

Now solve the motion sickness issues associated with devices like this and I'm in! After spending a few minutes using an Oculus Rift I was man down for a few days, lol.

No, taking medication isn't the correct answer

It only affects certain people that are predisposed to those conditions.

Presumably you used one of the DK kits. The CV1 is leagues ahead of that in terms of reducing/eliminating nausea.

Motion sickness problems caused by latency have been solved years ago.(People seem to forget Oculus DK1 is over 3 years old tech)
