The Tesla Model 3 is going to be unveiled tomorrow, 31 March. Looks like someone is already waiting in line:

Is Tesla the new Apple, like all the smoking hot takes claim? If lines to get new products are any indication, maybe so. Meet Andreas Stephens of Australia. By tomorrow morning, he will have been in line for 48 hours to put his name down to reserve a Tesla Model 3 sedan.

If anyone is interested, to watch the unveiling of the model 3, you can watch it on the Tesla website.

Edit: It starts at 5:30AM, tomorrow...thought it was today :(

Yup, being ahead of the rest of the sheep hasn't worked in this instance

0-60mph in less than 6 seconds. Never been one for maths but for a sedan that sounds nippy

This is really significant. Will change the landscape forever.

Very. Thats "old supercar" territory.
It's not supposed to be a supercar.
What about those owners never have to pay for fuel again or the 100 other things that are more relevant.

Who cares if it doesn't accelerates faster than supercars.

Some cities are already thinking of putting deadlines in place for banning petrol/diesel cars. This is really a game changer.

What are you on about?

Anyone know how many kWh it takes to fill up one of these? Or even the other models.

The target for driving range in the Model 3 is 200 miles. The wild card is the use of battery packs of multiple sizes. Prior to the introduction of the Model S sedan, Tesla said it would offer a 40 kilowatt-hour pack with about 160 miles of range—in addition to the 60 and 85 kWh packs it now offers. The 40-kWh option was later jettisoned, because of lack of interest. Achieving a 200-mile range will require a pack, most likely, at about 50 kilowatt-hours. It’s not yet known if 200 miles will be based on the smallest pack, or if it will fit within somewhere else in a set of options.

Tesla says its Model 3 car will go on sale on Friday

Electric car maker Tesla says its keenly awaited Model 3 car for the masses will go on sale on Friday.
CEO Elon Musk made the announcement Monday on Twitter.
The car is to start around $35,000 and with a $7,500 federal electric car tax credit, could cost $27,500. Tesla says the five-seat car will be able to go 215 miles (346 kilometers) on a single charge and will be sporty, accelerating from zero to 60 miles per hour in under six seconds.
Musk had said that production was on track to start in July, but Tesla has often faced delays in getting vehicles to market. The Palo Alto, California-based company aims to make 5,000 Model 3 sedans per week by the end of this year and 10,000 per week in 2018.
Tesla hasn't said how many people have put down $1,000 refundable deposits for the Model 3, but Musk has said people who put down a deposit now won't get a car until the end of 2018, suggesting it could be close to 500,000.
Whether Tesla can meet its production goals is an open question. Its last new vehicle, the Model X SUV, was delayed nearly 18 months. Musk says the Model 3 is much simpler to make, but 14-year-old Tesla has no experience producing and selling vehicles in high volumes. Tesla made just 84,000 cars last year. Bigger rivals like General Motors, Volkswagen and Toyota routinely sell around 10 million vehicles per year.
