Play PlayStation 4 games on your PC or Mac

Can we change our account names? Probably not

720p. Yeah, no, sorry, even more reason not to ever get a console.

Even at 720p I already know that my internet connection isn't going to work well for this. It just like shareplay. If you don't have a monster connection, the feature might as well not be there.

As with XBOX, they would\should be using a local connection to stream to PC.
Your internet speed shouldn't affect it at all :p

Just need to make sure both your PC and console are on the same network using LAN preferably.

RemotePlay hardly works well - been testing as part of the beta and it has been painful and pretty unusable. Most games do not support it properly and there is a considerable lag (even on wired network). You can download the installer here - https://remoteplay.dl.playstation.net/remoteplay/lang/en/index.html

Speaking to people overseas, the lag seems to be related to internet connectivity and guys running Google Fibre said that they have a fluid experience on their iMacs. Perhaps performance is better on Windows (but I doubt it, my Mac is running i7, 16GB RAM and SSD).

Just tested it and it worked remarkably well for me on WIFI.

Although only 720p, it's running at a smooth 60fps on my Mac Mini. Input lag is barely noticeable. Even played some BF4 and it was not too bad for a shooter. Casual games are a treat.

Running an Asus RT-N56U router.

Awesome, thanks for the constructive feedback. Was wondering how it would be in terms of quality.

I don't understand why people would use this outside their home network.

To me it's for using when the TV is otherwise occupied.

The image quality is definitely "softer". I think this is due to compression happening.

Before you connect to the PS4, check your preferences. On my retina mac it was initially all washed out and I then realised it was set to 540p and standard frame-rate:

Once I changed it to 720P and high it works flawless (game recording will be turned off) on WiFi. There are sometimes instances where the main TV is in use and I just want to quickly check something out - i.e. running a quick daily mission on Division works flawless now.

Finally 3.50 is out yay! I've been using remote play on my Note 3 and tablet up to now when the family are using the TV and it's worked fine for most games. Slight lag but nothing serious. Bought a Nyko smart clip to clip the phone to the PS4 remote.

I'm going to test Fallout 4 on my Mac now and will give some feedback. Work can wait.
