“We are hoping that by September we should be ready to approach Parliament with a concrete proposal on the table that will begin to criminalise racism,” he said.

He hoped there would be political support for it.

“It would come in the form of either a direct Racist Act or racism as an aggravating factor to other forms of criminality,” he added.

Will this finally mean that CEOs of companies enforcing BEE will be sent to jail?
 
Saw something today on Facebook.

A guy by the name of Dean something-or-other called a black person an ape. They took a screenshot to name and shame Dean (good).
Many of their friends immediately posted "f these white pigs", "tell him he is not white he is pink and goes oink oink" You get the drift. Surely this is equivalent to calling a black person an ape?

I irony is that Dean is not even white(not even close) :wtf:. People just grabbed the opportunity to slander whites. Can I report this and will the ANC want to put them in jail? or is it for white racists only.

And theres the problem. We have racists around every corner and under every stone waiting to jump out and cry racist. Several example of this over last few months alone. Words are open to interpretation, with enough 'creativity' everything can be spun into 'racist'. Going to have to start wearing 360 cameras and record everything you say or do just incase someone decides he doesn't like you anymore. I have a very sad story about someone losing their job a while back for walking into an office with a birthday cake and present for the birthday boy, singing and whatnot, and somewhere along the line she said something like 'and this is all for the birthday boy' and handed it all to him... enter rage and outburst of 'racists' from him, complaints, lawyers etc etc... she would be in jail when this comes along
 
This is going to be an absolute **** show. How do you police it? Or do they just prosecute the next person twitter rages at?

I see more offending racist statements coming from blacks (mainly ANC members, but also some EFF) nowadays.
