Have you had any merchants that the promotion didn't work on?

I tried it with Cybercellar last week on a R1,040 order and only got R19 back so I cancelled the order.

Only two merchants in my town that I can use it at. Got R454 back from them the past four weeks. Averages about 15℅ over 16 transactions.

Snapscan is Snapscan so I don't see why it would be any different.

I've paid CrystalWeb and my masseuse with Snapscan and both worked just fine.

I'm guessing the merchants that would be disqualified are ones where the transaction can range into the thousands.
 
And I to qualify I pay via snapscan within the Wechat app, using whatever credit or debit card is linked to that?

Yes. Even if you had Snapscan before you need to add your card to Wechat again.

Perhaps, the terms do have an exclusion for high value: "Each cash back is a randomly calculated amount of up to 50% of your purchase, up to a maximum of R500."

Oh right I forgot about that limit.

One could read that in two ways. Either that the cash back is up to 50% of R500 or that only purchases up to R500 qualify.

Actually scrap that. My CW transaction was for R678 and I got R249 back.
 
What sorcery is this? I can't find any physical place I can use snapscan apart from the proctologist down the road
 
What can I say, smiles all round, ordered an item online using we chat snapscan and got 47% back. Thanks guys :D

What's the most anyone's saved so far on one transaction and the percentage saved?

I got R220 back on my 47%, probably won't happen again in a hurry.

What happens if you return an order/get refunded, does the cashback also get reversed?

To avoid that I suppose you could request a credit to the account(to the account of whichever website it is) instead of to your snapscan/credit card.
 
This is pretty cool, but the reward is not consistent. Kind of like gambling.

Saturday = R175 for pizza, and R60 back.
Today = R528 dog food ; just under R20 back.

Am pleased to be able to buy dog food since its an online purchase for ebucks :-) so its 6% back too in ebucks

So would be cool if this is extended again!

Where did you buy dog food online with snapscan?
 
How does this work? After I add a card do I need to transfer money to my wallet first or can I scan the code and it goes directly off my bank account?

Does the cash back go into your bank account or into your wallet where you then need to withdraw it into your bank account?

So you need to add a card to the WeChat wallet. And then simply use snapscan as you normally would, but through the WeChat app. There's a button to scan a snap scan qr code.

Cash back goes into your wallet and you can then withdraw from a std bank ATM
