Getting your domestic worker to walk your dogs is wrong: Maimane

As an employee, you work for money, your duties as stated in your employment contract.
Many contracts state you may not reasonably refuse to do work outside of your main field of expertise or engagement.
Yet another news day, yet another politician looking to knee-jerk the race card players.

Case closed, not worth reading any further.

Who wouldn't want to be out and about with a dog on a leash? Hell, if it paid as well as being in IT, I'd do the **** out of it.
 
Have to agree with the one tweet that advises MM to stick to real politics and not get involved with nonsense.
 
I just think that, as a dog owner, that it is your responsibility to walk your dog, not somebody else's.
 
I agree with him.
If you want your dogs to be walked and you don't want to do it, hire a dog walker.

This. I'd gladly walk dogs for a living if it paid as well as my current job. I'd get out in the sun, I get to keep fit. Chilling out and getting paid to do it? Sign me up.

I get your point, still don't think that your should use your employee to do it. Maybe it's ok if you pay a student to do specifically that.

You still want the companionship of the animals in the evenings when you return home late from your demanding job. Unfortunately, despite wanting to, you can't be there during daylight hours to give the dogs the exercise and outdoors exposure you feel they need to live a happy life. Caring about their well-being you instead have your employee take the dogs out for walks, at your own expense, to give them that boost to their quality of life.

Just off the top of my head. Seems perfectly reasonable to me.

What is his rationale though? They can clean up after you, clean your toilet, do your washing but god forbid they walk your dog :wtf:
 
I don't get it.

And for those of you saying that if you don't walk the dogs yourself you shouldn't own them, does that mean if I don't wash my own car and let a car wash do it I shouldn't own a car?

What a stupid thing to say.
 
my neighbour who has a gardener (garden is so small that two grazing sheep will keep it under control) that comes in once a week and cuts the grass and cleans up, takes him about an hour, then gets the gardener to wash his 3 cars - does this mean the gardener should now refuse to wash the cars because he is a gardener and not a valet service?

Yeah. It's not really part of their job, which is cleaning.
If you aren't willing to do walk your dogs yourself, hire a dog walker.

But that is just my opinion
