I'm hoping someone can guide me or give me the contact details for the CPA and/or the ISP Ombudsman

It is my understanding that should I want or need to cancel a contract for whatever reason I may do so by giving 20 business days notice and the supplier can then charge me a fair cancellation value.

I am trying to cancel a 12 month contract of which I am 4 months in and the supplier is wanting to charge me 70% of the remaining contract balance which is completely unfair. I owe them nothing in terms of equipment or installation charges as all of that was paid upfront.

Please elaborate on the whole situation. Also if you want I can take a look at your contract and give you free legal advice. Just drop me an email at [email protected]

It's easy if they are not supplying you with a service, which you are paying for. So, it all depends on your reason for cancellation.

Well, I guess it didn't go away. I have been handed over to a debt collector who has applied for a judgement against me in court.

Couple of holes that I can see one of which is a registered letter submitted in court which has different Rand values to the one I received

Guess I need legal counsel.

Why did you sign a contract in the first place?
