AMD catching up to Intel in South Africa

I really want to get one but doing a MB/CPU/RAM upgrade together is quite expensive.
 
Slowly I am also starting to think of buying AMD end of year

I will when I can afford that R7000 minimum upgrade (probably better to get a SSD then too, so R9 500).

350 mobo - R1500
Ryzen 5 1600 - R3500
16Gb RAM - R2000
480Gb SSD - R2500

By the time, I must upgrade my i7-4970, Intel may be competitive to AMD and will probably have created a new niche market to sell +999$ CPUs.

I'm waiting on Vega, and by that time I may also have Volta to consider... Great to see AMD catching up, but it is still a buyer's cycle.

Yeah, I get you...probably at least 18 months to 2 years before a jump from Haswell becomes attractive for the price of a whole new platform...especially if CS GO type games are what you're mainly doing with the PC. I upgraded from Sandy Bridge earlier this year after ~6 years with a 2500k.
