A series of fake news articles (see here, here and here), black mail of anonymous Reddit users who had the audacity to poke fun at them and a couple of undercover videos from Project Veritas revealing CNN producers admitting their own news is "mostly bull****," seems to be taking a toll on CNN's ratings.

As The Federalist notes in the table below, for the week of June 26th - July 2nd, CNN's primetime shows (Anderson Cooper and Don Lemon) managed to draw about 6% fewer viewers than multi-decade old re-runs of "Yogi Bear," "Full House," and "Friends" which air in the same time slots on Nick-At-Nite.

But I see CNN screened in almost every public place in SA.

Doesn't say much for us.
It should be fun to look at waiters' reactions when you ask them to switch off the fake news... please. Even funnier when you stand up and leave when they think you joke.

I'd definately pay for a DSTV package saying it is "fake news free" if it removes all the bbc, cnn fox rt al jazeera etc. crap.

lol, if this is what a 'ratings collapse' looks like, I'm sure they'll take it every time.

Television experts we spoke to about how to gauge CNN’s trajectory suggested we compare CNN’s numbers from one year to the next, based on data from the second quarter (in 2017, second quarter ratings went from March 27 through June 25).

To get a comprehensive view, we were told to look at ratings across several benchmark metrics, broken down by audience demographics and viewing times.

Bottom line: CNN is at a five-year high in each of the categories we looked at, according to data provided by the Nielsen Company.

Wow that looks terrible.... if it wasn't taken directly from the article in the OP, which was already debunked.
Wow, it's almost like that image doesn't directly contradict the claim made by the debunking claim that the numbers are at a 5 year high.

Yea... what's your point? CNN with the backing of Nielsen have said that their primetime ratings are way up. So, either CNN or The Federalist are lying, which just means that one of the stories is false. So where does this Federalist article get its data from, if not Nielsen? TVNewser? Is it legit? I have no idea.

Can you find the source of that graph?

Is it just me or is the CNN we get here not the same one being complained about in the US? Maybe cause I don't watch the opinion shows.

Hmm, the downward trend doesn't represent the examples given in the OP based on dates. This trend could represent a number of other things like the holidays in the US. My bet is we need a longer time frame.
Politifact says that CNN is sitting at a 5 year high. The graph shows 250k viewers which is substantially lower than what was seen in 2016 (302k) and 2017 (371k) according to the image OD pasted, not so?

Not necessarily. They could have had a decline that week and still had their highest Q2 ratings overall.

Same source that ZeroHedge supposedly used for their garbage graph.

CNN set a ratings record this past quarter: It had its most-watched second quarter in network history across the 6 a.m. – 6 a.m. daypart. The network also delivered its best Q2 performance in the ad-friendly A25-54 demographic since 2003, when the Iraq War had just started.

The network also delivered its largest average prime time audience for a second quarter since 2003 (in both total viewers and among 25-54), and during weekend prime, CNN more than doubled MSNBC in the demo and ranked No. 2 in total viewers behind FNC.

Almost 1 month graph with only 425 and 250 levels showing, thus designed to exaggerate how it looks.

What? ZeroHedge not referencing properly and intentionally being misleading (it also says 7 day average when it's clearly not 7 days)? Whoda thunk it.

They brought it on themselves though, they tried to become an influencer instead of just reporting.
