Not sure what your point is.

If you mine diamonds and get paid in ZAR you're not a ZAR miner - you're a diamond miner.
If you're mining altcoins and getting paid in BTC you're mining altcoins, not bitcoin.

What exactly have I failed to read?

They're pointing out that it doesn't matter what you mine, you earn BTC.
That point is clear in the article and is the point of the article. It's not a technical article by any long shot, so why the frantic pedantic semantic tantrum? :D

They are earning bitcoins, through mining whatever. Facts matter, not feels.

I bought 15k worth on Luno back when Zuma wasn't voted out a little while ago. It is now worth 21.2k :)

Will need to FICA at some point :/

So if I illegally mine gold and the syndicate pays me with bitcoin for the gold, I am in fact mining bitcoin out of the ground, amirite?
