The R21,729 difference between in-bundle and OOB data prices

quite the difference in some cases, even with very little data, the difference is quite staggering.

just goes to show you how much the carriers have to lose if they implement pausing data when OOB
I mean with MTN I think half of their earning is due to people not stopping when the bundle is used up.

It's just good business sense to keep OOB since it's a constant high stream of revenue.

I tend to think of OOB as good in terms of learning life lessons. It tends to teach you discipline :)

not really the cases what if you leave your modem downloading a series with a bundle, and it goes over, how is that discipline?

I mean does the data magically become more expensive due to some dumb rules or something?

If you stop at 20GB, the life lesson is R20,000.

What happens at the end of the month and your bill is R200,000.

Your life lesson will be even better.

I just love the granting of free unlimited credit to consumers in contravention of the National Credit Act.

Vodacom, MTN and Cell C, hang your corporate heads in shame! Oh wait. The don't care. Fleecing and extortion is part of their business model :erm:

Roaming is even worse. My dad is here in Aus and gets an SMS for roaming data costs - R100 per kilobyte.
That's over R100k per megabyte. Are the ****ed in the head.

Who would be so stupid/naive ?

Why is there oob rates for Telkom?
Once your data is depleted you have to manually purchase another bundle.

You have a choice on Telkom. You can go out of bundle, buy a new bundle and add it to your account, top up with a voucher or via credit card.

It's the system all networks should use.

Who would be so stupid/naive ?

The plethora of people who have taken Windows 10 laptop devices get caught in the trap the system has set up. A lot of ordinary users need a IT administrator to setup their machines. It is not just cases of stupidity and naivety. This exploitation has tested or ruined many peoples finances, health and relationships.
