Getting into PC gaming – Building your first rig

I'm pretty sure the cheaper non-Z motherboards are out in the wild to pair with that i3-8100.
 
What's this gaming PC running Linux? As you'll need to add another 1500 to that price for the OS. So in total that entry level gaming machine will cost you 15000.

Why recommend SSD? If it's for budget as the i3 suggests, then a HDD is perfectly fine. SSD is still a luxury component (though arguably a gaming machine is luxury device).

I bought something similar on Carbonite at R250, so this is far less of a financial risk. I will, if not too much hassle, buy from ebay in future.

@R30 the risk is so small it's stupid. It's the price of one beer.

Small SSDs are perfectly affordable these days. Hard drives should be used for mass storage, SSD for OS boot drives so you don't need a massive expensive one.

I wasn't sure I've been out of the game a loooong time :-). So add another R300 to get a better one, but yeah the AMD spec is better then the Intel one mybroadband did.
