We’ve known about the device for a few weeks now, but the Xiaomi Mi 6X has finally been revealed by the Chinese manufacturer.

Those hoping for a much more powerful device are in luck, as the phone packs a Snapdragon 660 that should make for a notable speed upgrade over the Mi A1’s Snapdragon 625 chipset. But expect battery capacity to stay in the same ballpark, as we’ve got a 3010mAh pack with Quick Charge 3.0 here.
In the camera department, you’ll find a 20MP+12MP f/1.75 dual camera layout (IMX376 and IMX486 respectively), enabling portrait mode shots. The 20MP camera also sports pixel-binning tech of sorts, essentially combining four pixels into a two micron pixel. But Xiaomi is touting AI-powered scene recognition as well, claiming the ability to recognise dozens of scenes, objects, and subjects. A 20MP camera (IMX376) handles selfie duties.
As for other noteworthy features, we’ve got a 6-inch 18:9 display, rear fingerprint scanner, IR blaster and a USB Type C port. A quick look at both the top and bottom of the phone shows no headphone jack, so you’d better get used to Bluetooth or an adapter. Xiaomi is also touting 7.6mm thickness here, which actually seems slightly thicker than the Mi 5X/Mi A1.
The Mi 6X launches on April 27 at 1,599 yuan (~$253) for the 4GB RAM+64GB storage variant, 1,799 yuan (~$285) for the 6GB+64GB model, and 1,999 yuan (~$316) for the top-end 6GB+128GB device.
If last year’s phone was any indicator, then we can expect the Mi 6X to launch outside China as the Android One-toting Mi A2.
