In the month that India donated US$1 million to help feed starving children in Swaziland, King Mswati III, the kingdom’s absolute monarch, wore a suit of diamonds weighing 6 kg and received a cake with 52 layers at his birthday party attended by 700 guests.
A few days earlier he received his second private jet that after VIP upgrading might have cost US$30 million.
Meanwhile, seven in ten of his 1.1 million subjects live in abject poverty with incomes less than US$2 per day and 640,000 of them in need of food.
 
His subjects (like ANC supporters) don't care. As long as the king can live in luxury.. it's all good!

typical African way, the chief lives in luxury, while the rest live in poverty,
nothing much has changed in thousands of years, and people wonder why Africa is so Backwards and poor?

yet they still love the guy and keep him in power.
 
No one here appears to understand the suffering of the monarch - wearing 6kg of clothing is pretty uncomfortable but sacrifices for the people must be made.

The difference is colonial rulers were not pretending to give a sh*t about their subjects. This d*ck and the many African leaders like him - including our own - fancy themselves as liberators, saving the people from oppression, yet they literally eat cake while the people starve.

You get good kings and bad kings. This is not unique to Africa.
The phrase "let them eat cake comes to mind"
 
The problem is other nations providing food.
