Vodacom vs MTN – Netflix data usage

Netflix optimises its Android and iOS apps for mobile viewing in an effort to save mobile data consumption.

It accomplishes this by dynamically altering its content’s bit rate, depending on the motion in each segment of a video.
 
So streaming the same file to the same device used the same amount of data...
 
The MyBroadband Speed Test app was used for the speed measurements.

Why didn't you use Netflix's own speed test, Fast.com, to see if there was any discernible difference?

Seeing as you were testing Netflix and all...

Important to note that each network have their own rules on minimum data usage per session. Why this is something not agreed upon with the regulator, I don't know.
