Hi all,

I have just moved to a new place, about 10km from the old place.

The problem is now my signal strength sucks big time. The iBurst tray tool reports signal strengths between 5% and 30%. uTracestar reports a 2 to 3 out of 10.

So now im looking around for an antenna.

I see there is a couple around, talking of directional antennas.
Some that I have found was the one iBurst site, one at Miro, Radiant antennas and one from poynting.

Too much to choose from.
Any suggestions would be great

Radiant

My radiant antenna gives the best performance of the antennas that I have tested.

I had the iBurst directional flat panel which was not bad. -74db to -79db.

Tried another "18 db" gain directional antenna - garbage! -78db to -84db.

Installed the radiant and got the highest db gain. -68db to -72db.

You pays your money and you makes your choice.

I agree with prc66, Poynting is the way to go…

I live 1.3 km away from a tower with DLoS and tried all the antennas I could get hold of, the antenna that delivered the best results was the Poynting antenna, see first link below. If you want the best your money can buy see the second link!

Note that iBurst does not approve the use of these antennas; they will surely suggest the omni or the flat panel they sell.

Checkout the posts below, it will give you a good idea of iBurst users’ experience...

Poynting = R 367.94 incl VAT and R 442.04 incl VAT & Shipping to CTN
Stelladoradus = R 582.92 incl VAT and R 1,797.35 incl VAT & Shipping to CTN (Shipping of 1-10 antennas = same price)

Does anyone want to share the shipping costs with me, as I will be purchasing a 19 PSD61 from Stelladoradus, within this month?

Radiant Antennas

A new addition from Radiant Antennas, an amazing product, is an antenna that replaces the antenna from your iBurst modem with an antenna that gives you 100% reception at all times within a radius of up to 13km's from the nearest tower, with prices even lower than our average day to day competitors.

Should anyone need more info on any type of antennas or "signal\reception boosters", contact [email protected]

I use the omni directional from ibust, it doesn’t work no matter which way you point it! LOL, no seriously I use that, but I’ve got LOS with a tower, actually if I move my antenna any closer, it won’t be considered wireless anymore.

so where does one buy that stelladoradus thing if you live in jhb?
