Definitely the Nikon. Nikon as well as Canon are most probably your best cameras so you can't go wrong there. Although the price of the Olympus is very tempting. Which should be your option if you want a 'mik & Druk' Camera.

Can't comment on the first cam, but bought myself the nikon last week for random arb pic taking, and i'm quite impressed with it so far

HP? HP is Chinese OEM sh!te.

For a muk 'n druk, go for Canon, Nikon or Sony. Canon and Sony are market leaders. The cheapie Nikon is pro'lly a badge engineered model (i.e. not actually manufactured by Nikon) but the price/feature package is pretty good.

IMO it is usually better to look for good optics rather than high zoom tho'. I'd rather spend a bit extra for a good lens.

I wouldn't go for Olympus ... we used to sell them, but now their service is horrid. If something happens to your camera, it has to be sent to Europe to be fixed. If it can't be fixed and its under warranty, they replace it ... but the stuff up is if that model is discontinued ... they send them back saying it can't be fixed, but they can't replace it either because there is a newer model (even though its under 12 Months warranty).

yup. I luv my ixus, but if i bought a mik & druk now it'd be a nikon coolpix.

I have to say ... in the compact range I prefer Canon and Sony. I'm not happy with the results of the Nikons. In Sony though, I don't like the photos from the T series.
And just because a camera says Sony, doesn't mean they should be dissed cause the older ones were *** ... did you know Sony makes the sensors for all the different brands of compact cameras ;)

Bought a Canon A570is today based on some recommendations found here at mybroadb - thanks guys. I also bought a HP Photosmart D7300 series printer and the first few prints were impressive indeed! It also uses seperated color cartridges, this means you only replace the colour that is finished at R120 a pop at Makro.

I am still stupid with the camera but it seems to be working great, has many features and a multitude of settings but what I like about the it, is the Auto function works :D

Thanks for all the advice in different threads guys/gals!
