So I'm running Win7 x64 now and I cant get my Mvix PVR to log into it???

My other PC's on the network can browse my Win7 shared files no problem. I've set up a workgroup (not that HomeZone thing), I have enabled file sharing, password off, network discovery on etc. My Mvix can see the directory but cant log in - access denied ??? WTF am i doing wrong ??? Yes the Mvix FTS app is allowed through the firewall. I'm gettin seriously the .... in!

When you enabled sharing did you ensure that you selected everyone and then add?

What i did in the beginning was i select everyone but never pushed add so it never added it :).

yip, did that even created a new user too with password. Tried to login with the new user details... still denied. I noticed that in the advance settings for network sharing there is an option to use 128bit or 40bit file encryption - which is not in Vista. Could this be part of the problem? I have tried both settings though with no luck.

SOLVED

So after going blue in the face, changing every option practically available for network / sharing / firewall settings, I did some googling.... lo and behold I found a bulletin board in the states that addressed similar problems with Vista Home and Basic using the Mvix HD Player .... So I thought what the hell, Win7 is basically a streamlined Vista, let me try the registry changes... Yebo YES .. it worked !!!

Changes made...
MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\
everyoneincludesanonymous and change the 0 value to a 1
NoLmHash and change the 1 value to a 0

MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanManServer\Parameters\NullSessionShares
restrictnullsessaccess and change the 1 value to a 0

After that close the registry editor and restart the computer. You should now be able to browse any folders you have shared from your 760HD. (PVR TOO i might add!)
