I've been quite busy at the office recently, so I haven't checked in here for a while.
Has there been a change on MTN's data roll over policy?
I have an MTN 500Mb package for one of the office data modems.
This morning I wanted to check the left over data, so I know how much megs remaining, before I hand it to another user to use (!).
So I dial 258, and "press 1 to listen to your data balance"
so the voice says.... "you have 512Mb remaining on your 500Mb package"
How did that happen???
Either a (-nother) screwup on MTNs system, or they now offer data rollover?
Anybody else got this, or any info?

Happened to me too, i checked last month and found out i have a little over 500MB (can't remember exactly how much) on my 500MB bundle.

Not too sure if it's a mistake or if it rolled over.

Been thinking about it, perhaps a 1time flooke, so I put the simcard in phone again now, dialed 258...
no, the voice still says "as of 17Mar you have 512.000 MB remaining..."
Guess its just a system error, expecting data roll over is wishful thinking at the moment

I actually think it is data roll over.

I read here somewhere that a company started reselling MTN data bundles with roll over.

So, if they can do it, why not MTN?

hehe, yeah, no reason anymore why MTN can't also offer roll over... but I would think MTN will definately make a big hoohaa about it in the media, to make sure everybody knows :-)
Maybe they are trialling it, before officially announcing it?
Any MTN insiders have any ideas, or is mum the word?

Anyways this is a Nashua Mobile account... I have another with MTNSP, with billing and data bundle renewal date of the 20th... I will definately have data left over by friday, so I'll check on Saturday, if the MTNSP one has also rolled on the leftover data............

1gig is 1024mb

half gig is 512mb >>> There's no data roll over.

Before 1gig was 1000mb , Now they corrected it.

Buy a 250mb and you'll see its 256mb.

So stop fooling your self

You might be right....i never thought of that...

Anyway, my bundle will renew on the 20th, so we'll find out soon!

hehehe... that solves it :)
It used to be a 500Mb package, and after renewal of data bundle, bitsing Betty would say "you have 500Mb remaining on your 500Mb package".
If they now changed it to half-gig package, 512Mb, they much just remember to say "... remaining on your half-gig package" ....
Somebody at MTN has nothing to do with his time... he should rather go help out at customer service!
At least we then got 12Mb for free...

500MB is not 512MB, half a GB is thou. So if they say, 512 left on your 500 account????

I do see your point thou.... makes logical sense! :D

No, there's no such a thing. I got an old data contract when I joined my new company this month. It had exactly 1GB of data no roll overs (its a 1 Gig subscription). On the other hand, my ProCall 120 had 240 minutes.

Yip... as expected, still no roll over :(
My contract data bundle renewed this weekend. I still had 211Mb remaining on friday... checking today the antie tunes again "you have 512Mb remaining on your 500Mb package..."

My data bundle expires 26th monthly + there is a MTN announcement on Thursday. Hopefully good news.

Threads titles like these will have me going to the hospital due to a heart attack! :D :p
hah yeah I just waited 10 minutes for virgin to finish loading this webpage only to find out it was a hoax. Give me my 10 minutes of my life back!

I'm getting sick and tired of this slow ass internet, but its the only option I would dare to use until the competition decides to use data rollover like vergin has.

Btw did you ever notice how all articles that finished with a question mark in its title ends up bringing false hope.. Its a way to predict if an article will be fact or fiction. :p

Do Virgin have data bundles that rollover these days?

I would not go so far as to say that the OP was an article :p :D

And what ginggs said

no databundles but hey 50 cents(i mean 60 cents-.-) is stil alot cheaper than 2rand out of bundle rates and 1 month bundle limits not to mention all the other clauses these companies put in place to ensure maximum profit. Virgin airtime rolls over and that to me is like data bundle roll over.
