PCMall Order #07686581
Placed on 17th January 2008, Spoke to Gavin on their online support the next day (Friday the 18th) to confirm order and the next monday again, during that chat Gavin said: to be safe the UPS should be available for collection on Wednesday afternoon. During the chat I confirmed again that I will pay cash when collect and he said no problem. Tuesday morning someone called my office from pcmall to euquire about the payment status (Confusion within PCMALL?), I wasn't available at that time and when I came back, sent a email to pcmall explain about the payment arrangment.

UPS eventually available for collection on 28th January, and after I waited about 20 odd minutes I got the UPS.

Out of the tree Blazer 800VA I purchased, one of the is not working. The Buzzer of the UPS indicated it's running in backup mode even the AC is plugged in. I reply to one of the email some lady from PCMALL sent me about the customer satisfaction survey said product faulty what should I do, no reply.

The following days had been hectic at work and I was sick for like a week, and the preparation for Chinese new year on 7th Feb. Only remember this like today and I had been waiting for Gavin to reply my question on the online chat +/- 30 minutes after his last greeting. Most of the online chat session with Gavin was very difficult since he only answered my question every 30 minutes or so, sometimes my question was never answered!!

PCMall Order #07715656
Placed on 21st Jan, 2008. I consulted with Gavin before placing the order to confirm stock since this is one of the old socket 754 MSI motherboard, he said he got one available for me and if I place the order now, I will get it on the same Wednesday afternoon which he said I can pick up the UPS.

I am still waiting for them to advice me time for pick up untill today....

For the UPS I guess probably one of the fuse was blown somehow, very strange because other two is working and this one behaved like this out of the box. I think I will just open it up and replace the fuse myself rather than go through all the trouble with PCMALL  Will not shop there anymore and will not recommend anyone to use their service. Rather try places like Sybaritics:D, prophecy and Landmarkpc:D.

I started a new live chat and sent him the link. Gavin replied :we apoligized for the hassled had incurred. Then he ended the chat, seems like this is it, not even willing to advise on the warranty issues with the product. Very good service!

Thanks... I was just about to order an expensive item from them.

I opened the UPS already, PCB boards and components looks decent, but I could not locate the fuse.....Will post some pics later and hope someone with electrical knowledge could help me.

Great help Xrapidx!! I was under the impression that the fuse supposed to be inside.....Now got to figure out how to get this plastic socket out. Before that need to go to Sandton.....Will report back on this.

Done, very easy to open. Fuse was blowned into pieces and managed to recover the metal cap, will head to Mica or somewhere to get the same spec fuse. Thank you again!

This time I will get 4 fuses, since the plastic clip to install fuse has spaces for a spare fuse (not included somehow).....

Ya, seen that on some of the UPS'es I installed at clients - no spare fuses.

how doff...

Good idea that 4 fuses - just be sure you store them in a place where you can find them easily :D

Ok, Mica, stax doesn't stock fuses and only managed to get 25A gate motor fuse in Rosebank Mall. The original fuse is 5A....... The UPS is connected either to a surge supressor or from a surge supressor, hope the surge supressor can protect the pc. Won't put that much hope on the massive 25A fuse.

The plastic fuse holder was designed to have the space to store a spare fuse...
