Can anyone please help me.

MTN can give me the Xperia on a Anytime350 contract for R459 per month. (Free phone)

Or R350 per month with a pay-in of R2599.

So I contacted the retentions department asking for a better price. Explaining to them the whole thing of me being a MTN customer for 14/15 years with 5 contracts.

So they said they will give me a R489 discount. So I said it sounds fine but not a good deal afterall. I mean 2 years ago I also asked for a discount and they was going to credit my account with R320. Well, still waiting for that. Now all of a sudden they will give me R489 and R320 credit.

So that is R809 leaving me with a pay-in of R1790.

That is still too much. I spend more than that each month on MTN.

If MTN gives me the Xperia on a Anytime350 for R350/month with a pay-in of R1000 then they have a deal. Otherwise I will have to take my 5 contracts to another operator. Not that I think they will really worry about that.

So if anyone on here (MTN representative) can help, please do.;)

Dammm - kicking myself for taking the htc touch diamond on Anytime 200 just a month ago!!!

Eish I was also trying to get pricing on a buy in - but got none, so thanks for that info Piesang.

I've also set myself a target of paying in R1000-R1500 for the phone on an Anytime R200.

The damn Omnia was on moerse special when it launched - the X1 should have the same kinda deal going, but it's damn quiet out there - as far as finding stock of it anyway.

Ok, got a deal from MTNSP.

Xperia X1 on Anytime350 for R350 per month with a R1599 pay-in. That is a R1000 discount. I think that it's a good deal.

Looks like all this money spending the past 14 years does pay off.:D

I am sure if you just waited until feb 2009 you would have gotten it with no payin...lol

I'm not that sure. These type of phones (Nokia E90, TyTN11, Touch PRO etc.) dont get cheap that quickly. I think it has something to do with the fact that it's mainly aimed as business users.

I got my Nokia E90 on a Procall 120 for R409 in January 2008. It is now R479 on a Anytime350.

Procall 120 (R285/m) R124/month for the handset.
Anytime350 (R350/m) R129/month for the handset.

OK so I want to get the Nokia E71 how am I going to get a discount?

Well I havent actually phoned them yet... Have you got your phone yet? Did they give it to you at that price?

Well I was actually hopeing to wait for one of them when the prices drop but now I am really puitt off by that. What do you think of the E71 though? I know Nokia makes good phones but you know I have been using one since 2001 and really feel like a change. But am a bit skeptic of other phone brands. Anything you could recommend?
