OK, now this company is really getting on my nerves.

Whenever I start ANY type of download, whether it be a PDF file, an image, an mp3, etc etc, absolutely NOTHING happens, but my connection skyrockets to full speed, the light on the modem flashes rapidly and my browsing comes to a halt. Obviously the modem is transferring data at full capacity, but the question is, WHERE THE HELL IS MY DATA GOING TO??

I've tested it now with an mp3 file of 4.5mb. I left it there to timeout in my download manager after 3 minutes of no response. Yet the modem was clearly still sending data at full speed, and after a few minutes 20MB had disappeared without me doing anything on the net. I have to disconnect from the Internet for the data usage to stop.

Well done. REALLY, this is such an excellent product.

Are you sure its not software related? Have you tried it on another PC?

Can't be software related. No data is being transferred until I initiate the download. Afterward, the file download supposedly times out, yet bandwidth consumption resumes at 900kb/s with no end to it but to terminate the connection.

I've tried it with several download managers, and also with no download manager at all.

Hi guys.

Please mail me exact locations for downloads so that I may start looking into the matter.

Thanks

happened to me twice.. i started downloading a cod 5 patch about 500 meg.. so it started 2 megs gone.. and i went to sleep leaving it over night.... woke up the next morning it was still on 2 megs.... while iburst used 900 megs of my cap

i complained.. but ended up being told by one of the managers. that its not his problem and he cant help me... ... pointless

I had that last month with a windows update , chowed 2,5gb of bandwidth overnight.
***** happens.

I always make sure to set my Windows Updates to 'Inform me when new updates are available' and let me choose what to download.
No nasty surprises that way.

I did that and chose to let the download run overnight.
Unbeknown to me though the line reset constantly during the night so the update got stuck in a loop of downloading > interruption> restart download > rinse and repeat.

Eish!!
I would not have seen that one coming either.

It could also happen that virus software intercepts the file that is being downloaded (as it is supposed to do), but does not release portions of it to the browser until it is fully downloaded. I have experienced this few years ago, cant remember if it was Trendmicro or Mcafee.

Still the same
The red marked figures are a concern.

Test to Paris.

Looks like my international speed drops with 0.57 Mb/s. Thats is absolutely a problem.
Here is a recap of international vs local.
Local International
0.86 - 0.29 = 0.57 Mb/s loss in download
0.3 - 0.27 = 0.03 Mb/s loss in upload

Hi Dusk

Your detail is through to networks for a look at.

Thanks for the results.

Just fixed my previous post to correct typo and mark(red highlight) the "download International speed" instead of upload.
