I have 2 hdd
the one has vista on it,and the other has xp and ubuntu on it
half partition is ubuntu and other half is xp media centre.:D

Now how do i take grub of from the boot and ubuntu and have xp and vista back in the vista boot manager like normal again, like it use to be.
i dont like ubuntu very much as you need a good intenet connection for it

I have not used Vista, but if it is in anyway similar to XP you will need to boot of the Vista install disk. If it is similar to XP, it will have a Recover Console type option. Choose that (choose the Vista install if any options come up). Once that is up and running, see if there is a fixmbr command. if there is run that. That process on XP would restore the MS bootloader.

ok all i want to do is delete ubuntu and the grub and restore to 1 partition

Just use Windows partitioner to delete the Ubuntu partion (or rather increase the Windows partition size to include the Linux partition). Not sure about your boot partition, but there are apps to do it.

i wouldn't delete the ubuntu partition before ensuring that the vista bootloader has been restored.

Grub is still installed - and should you remove Ubuntu, you might also screw up grub - and deny you access to the vista partition...

this is so true, asi deleted the ubuntu partition, and then there was K@K:mad:
When the ps starts up grub takes over and shows error, and thats it nothing happens just stays black the screen,So i restored the partition with a program and everything was working again but ubuntu was back again.
I just want to delete ubuntu and have the one hardrive with xp again.

This is a detailed explanation.
Hen the pc starts up grup boot manager shows up and i have a choice for ubuntu/ubuntu safe mode and other os/xp media centre

WHen i press xp in the grub bootloader it then switches over the vista boot manager--where the choice for previouse windows or vista ultimate
I press previous windows then xp media centre starts up..

Now how do i restore the partition on the one drive to make xp the primary os on the one drive

SO when i boot the pc i want vista bootloader to come up and not grub.

I also have a app to create a linux in the vista bootloader but i honestly dont know how to select the path of the ubuntu start up.......I am not a linux man and seem to struggle with it....:(

When you run fixmbr did you point to the drive you want it installed on? eg fixmbr c: ?

i imagine if you had done a repair install it would rewrite the MBR as well.
