Electronic vibration reduction is not as good as mechanical/optical which the sony has?

The sony one seems to be quite nice, any comments or other bargins?
 
My cousin is coming to visit us on the 14th and I will ask her to bring me a CANON IXUS 860IS from China, since www.sacamera.co.za won't let me complete the order process and I can get the Canon with better specs (then the Sony DSC-W130)and only pay half of the price if I buy from South Africa.
