Had Mbeki acted earlier, and more firmly, this would not have happened.

But now that the fat is in the fire, plans need to be drawn up, and real action needs to be taken in order to alleviate the situation.
 
Exactly who in S.A. is "shocked" by this "wave of violence"? Isn't this what we have come to expect from our fellow South Africans?

If the police don't get this under control, our country is going down the $h!thole.
 
The only way to appease ( and I mean APPEASE, not placate) the masses is to start rounding up illegals in a BIG way and telling them all to bugger off... As if the police will be able to control this... they are spread to thinly.. the army will have to come in... but I doubt they will be able to hang around for ever.
 
Unfortunately it is already there.

One of our garden execs just arrived looking for safety from the death threats (Mocambiquan (spelling) but has been working for us for about 15 years and has all the correct legal documents saying he is allowed to be here) his eyes are scarey and all i see is shock and horror in them.

Our zulu staff have even been threatened and they are fully South African.

One of my students is from Rwanda (in the country completely legally) - he is scared out of his mind.

My black (South African) colleauges are almost just as scared, stating that the violence is completely random and if you are even in the same area as these mobs, you have trouble.

This is sad times....

Crisis, what crisis ?

It's all lies by the Media - nothing is happening in the Townships....... It's a plot to make Mbeki, the moral leader of Africa, look bad........
