Diablo 2 in 1280x1024 resolution

Have anyone had any success playing Diablo in a higher resolution.

but to no avail.

It only works on 1.11b, but i dont even get to the setting where you suppose to change the resolution:o:D.

And what the hell is the chatlobby?

I read somewhere that there is a mod available for 1024x768???
 
If u find a way to play d2 in higher resolution it would be nice:D.It's weird that blizzard didn't bring out a patch to do it yet.:(
 
Can't be done afaik. The engine is only designed for 800x600 if I remember correctly.
 
chat lobby is the place u find your self in , when u join battlenet and click on the chat button.
You see all the avatars of other players that are not yet in a game ... and u can chat to them.
Haven't read the links yet either ... on local bandwidth :(

Just got it to work
Very nice actually ;-)
-only works with v1.11(b)
-must be full screen (does not work in windowed mode)
-u need d2loader
-need to change the title
-only run exe in chatlobby(multiplayer) or char select screen(single player)
-change res from 800x600 -> 640x480, then new res will kick in
-must use 3D mode (choose using D2vidtest)

very laggy on a crappy machine (onboard grfx)-> pentium4 2GHz, onboard S3 (shared mem), 1GB ram

just thought this needed a bump seeing there is alotta diablo action these days.

one thing i forgot to mention .... u must use 3D mode ... it wont work in 2D
for those of u moaning about the low res
NOTE: this hack only works for 1280x1024, no other res supported by this file
(makes baal tele ALOT easier ;-) and also shows off the the perspective mode alot better than 800x600)
 
Where can i download the patch and will it work on the newest version 1.12?
 
but for interest sake ... the local server(bitfarm) luckily works with both patch 1.11 and 1.12
So if u wanted to run this hack... u could still play 1.11 on bitfarm

Never played on Bnet so I wouldn't know, but from what dread says the local server runs both 1.11 and 1.12. Don't know if the local servers auto update.

Not that there's a big difference between 1.11 and 1.12, other than being able to play without needing the disc in.
 
I tried it last night in single player. No go. Then on BattleNet but when I joined the EU server, it got upgraded to 1.12. Will reinstall tonight to get back to 1.11b.
 
thats why I mentioned the LOCAL sever ... this is not europe/us/asia
its a different IP. Check the forums, there is a couple of posts that explain how to, and what the ip is, that u need.

just a note, u will need a gateway editor to add the above IP to the diablo server list
The local server does NOT update, it runs patch 1.11 (but does NOTstop u from joining if u have 1.12)

If u didn't get it to work in single player, then u didn't follow the steps. U need to do ALL the steps , then it will work ... yes even the title thing, otherwise it wont work.

Anybody know where I can buy LOD in Durban area? Got D2 orig yesterday but it doesn't feel complete without LOD :)

Never Mind guys, my bad. Didn't look around hard enough but just checked out BT games here. Hope they got in stock or can get. . .

Hey man. Check the big Musica store in Gateway. They had a copies there about two months ago. Dunno if they still there, but worth checking out. Also try the CNA below.
