does anyone know how to update the localroutes.dat file for route sentry  ? or where to get a monthly update of those iptables that it uses please?

No replies to this thread??

I am also having an issue with Routesentry and MWEB intercepting Google and Gmail and some other international pages, not all. These MWEB landing pages are getting up my nose now.

I have local and international accounts setup in Routesentry. working pretty well most of the time. But I think MWEB has noticed that i am downloading local stuff. I got blacklisted on the SMTP server so I could recieve email but not send anything.

Called MWEB Tech Support and they told me I had been put into a blacklisted IP pool because I had more than one connection from my router. I needed to reboot my router to get reassigned another IP.

I can understand that they can blacklist me on their SMPT server but if I am using Routesentry with another account for international how can they block GMail and Google and some other HTTP traffic?

It must be a localroutes.dat issue. How do we all keep this file up to date??

I used route sentry long, long time ago. I had some problems with it. 1) It dropped all local connections (not the connection to the ISP, I'm talking about the threads that applications make) when I clicked on connect international. If resume wasn't supported it would mean the download starts from scratch. 2) It sometimes hanged for a minute or so, when clicking on connect.

I realize that these problems probably been sorted out by now, but I came up with an alternative that works perfectly for me. I've placed a description of how I split my internet traffic here. Router must support half bridge. Don't know if it will solve your problem, but it might be worth a try. It work in vista too. What i like about this method is that I'm permanently connected to local and I only "dial" international when I need it. Also before my TI account (thats the account on my router) is capped I just do nothing and international traffic go through the router without me having to disable the routes. The only time I run the batch files is when I want to update the route table with the latest routes.

I just updated the routes on my site too.

Ok Thread resurrection time.

Does anybody know what the easiest way is to update the localroutes.dat file?

Looks like willemvdm's way of doing it is the best if you want the file to be updated regularly.

Also alot quicker than to wait for Route Sentry to dial in to two accounts each time you reboot.
