Am I expecting too much from WebAfrica? (Resolved)

So lots of people had great service from WA, I gave it a try tonight.

Registed on their website and bought 1G shaped prepaid.

Waited 15 mintues before it's activated (paid with VISA CC).

Had problems with the client ID/Password when log into their client area, I checked more than 10 times against the email contains my details from WA, but it still tells me unrecognizable username or password. There's an option to help user who forgot their details, I click on it and it brought me into my client area or something similar automatically with my name, email and balance?? But I just can't login?

Input the username and password from WA's email into my Modem, not working!! It connects and assigns me IP but I can't open any website, not even MyBB (I am on my IS local at the moment), checked setting, DNS........

Could not phone their 24/7 line as Telkom Technician only activated my ADSL line but did not unblock my voice portion, can only dial the telkom 5 digits number....

Have you submitted a ticket to their support?

Sorry to hear about your experiences.

They have a 24 telephone helpline. Im sure you could use a cell or maybe a callbox to get them?

i normaly get my accounts created in 10 min even if i did not pay :D its amazing. i request accounts through the month and only pay the next month for them

There was alot of authentication issues, with all accounts last night. There's already 2 threads about it.

Might've just been bad timing.

Ok, so I got an email from WebAfrica.

I need to provide my ID, the CC owner's ID (which is the same in this case) and front side copy of the CC and fax all to WA before they can activate my account.

But then why the hell in the email they sent me states that my account is activated now and will be able to use? And non of their email communications to me before this support ticket (invoice, account details, registration) mentioned anything about this ID, CC detail thing....

Wow, ok, I personally wouldn't agree to that to be honest. I can sort of understand the copy of the front of the card (if I purchased something significant) but the rest... no thanks.

Hi Cyberarmy

I am very sorry to hear of the inconvenience you seem to have experienced with the sign up process at WA. If you'd be so kind, please supply me with your client code (either via PM or you may email me [email protected]).

As soon as I have the necessary information, I assure you that I will thoroughly investigate this and get back to you as soon as possible.

Enjoy the rest of your evening!

Hi again Cyberarmy

Thanks for responding so swiftly. I have responded right back and hope that I am able to win over a happy and satisfied client in you :)

Have a great evening!

Problem sorted thanks to Mariet.

Hope my experience could help WA to improve on certain areas of their system.

So much information and inconvenience with WebAfrica and CC, why not just try Axxess. I'm with them, bought local cap with CC and no ID verification needed and what not.

The whole point of a CC is to buy things quickly and without hassle

Hi WikusMoller

I completely understand the point you bring forth and therefor I would like to assure you that WA mainly uses this process under the following circumstance:

The account holder name and credit card name does not match (nor name nor surname). There is unfortunately a lot of credit card fraud done via the internet, and this is merely a way for us to ensure our clients safety and lower the risk of fraudulent attempts to our system.

With WA service always comes first, and therefor, we will always try our utmost to assist each and every one of our clients as best we can. It is seldom that we can not help a client and I for one will try my utmost to keep it that way.

Have an awesome day guys!

I've been using WA pre-paid unshaped on and off since 2006. I only had minor issues, great service.
