A new toy

Oh lovely another bloody noisy person on the road.....

As long as you live no where near me as the motorbike riders that feel the need to rev their flippin noisy engines as loud as possible late at night and in the early hours of the morning are already risking getting shot with a pellet or paintball gun!

Actually what happened to cars and bikes needing to make less than a bearable amount of noise? Or did that law never exist and I just fantasised about it in my ideal world?

o_O .... The.Envy.Is.Strong ..... very nice bike Noc bru :D

*goes mumbling about lucky swine and all that* :p

Have much sand in your vagina this morning? Anyway, I'm a responsible person and I don't even start her after 8. As for the mornings, I don't get out of bed before 8, so... I guess we're all guilty of generalizing sometimes, eh?

Nice :D

Please go show lance the shiney bits at around 3am :D

I might just do that! :D

That's fine I already referred to the relevant Noise Control Regulations and know my rights, so bring it on! ;)

But seriously.... you have to be one inconsiderate fsker to rev your bike in the early hours of the morning or late at night! Like people who blast on their horns after 11 at night!

Lance, i thought honking a horn was only for emergencies so why do taxi drivers allowed to do this. sorry for the derail but its been bothering me.

This is sure one cheerful happy person.

Well if being inconsiderate makes you smile then all good and well.... I am HAPPY for you!

Well sorry I didn't FAP to the picture of your new bike, forgive me!! And if you are so considerate then perhaps spread the word amongst your biker buddies to follow your example... otherwise yes you will all get tainted with the same brush! The same way you very likely assume that all taxi drivers are morons!

Well as you can tell, it bothers me too!

Unfortunately it is always these small by-laws that are allowed to slip... and in fact most people see no problem disobeying them themselves. And I don't care what anyone says but when the small laws are overlooked it affects the discipline of society as a whole!

And in case you are wondering how we got onto this topic, it was reference to the noisiness of the OPs new toy... so it is on topic really!

Taxi's are allowed to honk their horns because it's waaay too difficult to get the court to uphold that law where the driver can say that there was something in the road so he hooted.

But, to solve that issue, the entire taxi industry must be re-organised and signage and lights should be used to indicate destination and amount of space available.

But ... that bike is flipping beautiful, though, I really do not understand why they tune the exhausts to produce a melodious thunder instead of a whisper. I'd prefer the whisper.

Noise pollution also affects the driver.

Now we are thinking on the same lines... I wonder if anyone actually tests the noise output of these bikes or if has just been allowed to slip so we reach the point we are at now?

Oh, I certainly don't assume that. I've seen a lot of them who drive very responsibly. Anyway, I was merely pointing out that you're quick to judge others for bitching and moaning about things but you're just as guilty. Welcome to being human.

Besides, I'm pretty happy right now and there really isn't much that can dampen my mood. I've been saving up and wanting a bike like this for almost 15 years now and I finally got it.

agree 100%

It's not just the exhaust. They're more noisy because they're 2-cylinder engines. The 4-cylinder is a lot more quiet. I just like the thud of a twin.

Yes, they do test noise levels. The volume can be brought down by installing the correct baffles in the exhaust. Without them, this thing would be unbearably loud. Again, it comes down to being a responsible individual.

I appreciate that... and as usual it is probably the few who ruin it for the masses.

There is a difference between moaning about someone making excessive noise late at night and bitching about the PERCEIVED inadequacies of a government or the APPARENT impending doom of a country!

Actually, this is an arguable point. I think it's the masses who ruin it for the few. That's just my perception of the biking fraternity though.

Wasn't referring to that specific subject but never mind. I'm not in the mood for arguing semantics. Have a great weekend, bud! :)
