We're running a mail server at work, small solution, but it's done a few thousand mails so far since the beginning of the month.
We're connected on an SAOL account.
Today, for some odd reason, our mail bounced back saying "remote host says no relay allowed" etc.
Previously it was a setting on our mail server that caused us to act as an open relay, but this wasn't the same as then, as we've rectified the issue.
I connected with my WebAfrica details and reconnected with the SAOL account, but it still gave us the same Dynamic IP on SAOL
.
I went to the server room and switched off the router for 15 minutes, switched it back on and yet again, we had the same dynamic IP.
This is actually really frustrating to be honest. I am pretty sure we aren't acting as a relay, although the mail server relays the messages to SAIX, there is no other way to do it unfortunately as far as I am aware.
Has anyone experienced this? The mail sent fine on my WebAfrica account, but not on the "bad" SAOL IP?
We've killed the router for the day and will switch it on again tomorrow.
