Neotel continues to prepare for war

Exactly. Who cares? Without coverage it means nothing.

Hu, they just signed a 4.4 billion rand deal with our banks to build infrastructure.
It's not like this stuff comes cheap.
Patience peeps.

They laid cables ages ago in my area and still NO coverage. Patience is overrated :p

Sharma said the company would be able to cover the four major metropolitan areas — Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and Pretoria — by the end of next year.
yeah, NeoPromise

their announcements remind me of PW's rubicon speech

luckily the reviewers and "journalists" have been passified so long with their free neoflex devices.

Lucky for the rest of us outside of NeoLand just their very presence in the market has driven the price of broadband down right across the board . . . . . yeah, right.

One can only hope that Vox can shake that rep, but i have full confidence in the ability of Neotel and beleive that they will most definately be a force in the industry.

Neotel have a bad rep simply because they overpromised and under delivered.. and why go for a company that does that when you can stay with a company that underpromises and never delivers?

Ya, we were told in August that neotel services would be ready in the Rondebosch/Rosebank area. But to no avail. They still havent delivered, were now heading into January and still nothing. They laid cables round here in the last month. But when I email Neotel they tell me they will email me when coverage is available. Surely the time is now????

Anyway, lets see what the new year brings. Telkom is just rediculous. I saw an add today for an 8mb/s line for 10Pounds. Roughly R140 not bad hey, we spend R525 per month on half that speed.....lets wait and see

When I e-mailed Telkom about anything, I get no response even after weeks of waiting.. Atleast Neotel is trying, It's not so easy to build a countrywide infrastructure without the aid of the goverment as was the case in the copper networks, they billed the taxpayers and implemented everything, telkom was just supposed to maintin it. Look how badly they have turned on us, we who paid for their infrastructure in teh first place..

I can think just how difficult telkom is making it for neotel to get itself settled, considering Neotel was supposed to be the second Fixed line operator but ended up just another wireless company.
