Hey everyone!!!:D During the past few days I've really been putting a lot of effort into learning more about DSLR cameras and the lenses. Like the mechanics behind the single lens reflex system. I've also learned a lot about all the inner workings of DSLR cameras.

Here are some websites I have worked through (I guess you could say studied) :

http://www.slrphotographyguide.com/
http://www.digital-slr-guide.com/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aperture
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macro_photography

Ok and then about Adobe Photoshop. I've been working on photoshop for more than 2 years now but that was aimed more to the manipulation of pictures and not working with photos and adjusting them. And when I say photoshop I mean Bridge CS4 and Adobe camera RAW 5.2 (ACR) as well. Here is the website that helped me the most with photoshop:

http://www.photoshopcafe.com/

And this DVD helped me A LOT in the photographic department of photoshop and ACR :

http://photoshopcafe.com/video/products/CS4_Digi.htm

Colin Smith is really the best in the market IMHO. PhotoshopCafe.com and the DVD mentioned above is he's.

OK so THE BOTTOM LINE (For those who don't want to read alot)

How can I further increase my knowledge database on Digital slr's and photographing with them (REMEMBER: I don't have a DLSR yet, I'm saving up so don't tell me that I should take photos!)

You can read about photography until the cows come home but it wont help until you start taking photos and start making loads of mistakes. Even a cheap point and shoot will give you some exposure (;)) to framing and general composition.

I started taking photos years ago on a midrange Fuji camera. Forget about using anything but Auto-mode and first get going on good photos before trying anything more focused.

Thanx for all the replies!!:) Especially to koffiejunkie for that great website!:)
I am gonna borrow one of my friends Canon 400D slr's and start getting some experience and learning through mistakes!!!

Can't wait till I can afford my own DSLR's though

Just don't drop it... that would be an expensive mistake :D

Thanks for all the usual info bud, as someone who's contemplating the purchase of a DSLR I will be sure to start reading soon. I'd like to get out in nature and start snapping away. In CTN especially, there's some amazing places on our doorstep so you could say I've been "bitten" lol.
I just can't decide on where to purchase my Canon 1000D.... I posted in the wrong thread so no replies. Perhaps I'll start a new thread and hopefully see some action :D

Again thanks for the links ;)
