Disconnect on phone ring

Hi, I hope someone can help me here.

Lets start, I have a Netgear DG834PN router on telkom unshaped and I play WOW

Every time the phone rings and/or when someone then picks it up the game lags, or freezes for 5-10 etc seconds. Same happens when it gets put down. Also I think when people then speak I get disconnected sometimes. I not even sure when what etc. It just lags & dc's sometimes when the phone rings etc.

Now I have replaced my filter etc etc, does not help.

I was recently told by some they had a similar problem with Netgear DG834. It sounds kinda funny that my router might be the cause.

I'm going to try and get another router to test it, but any help would be appreciated.

Phone line comes into the back of the house to where the phone is (thats between the open plan kitchen / sitting room)

It then splits into 2 parts

1 line connects to the filter and then the filter to the phone and the 2nd line runs for about 15m to the study where the DG834pn router is. Then with a network cable to my pc.

try swop take your modem to the 1st point and phone to the second. It sounds like telkom might have messed up the wires, there also could be a short somewhere. Have u tried to use a different phone?

If you can take the cover off the telephone line box and see if the wires match up to the second point.
 
Its sorted now. You won't believe, the 2nd filter I got was also faulty!! Going to try and be 3rd time lucky
