Hi guys.

Till we are notified about the subsea cable we are going to supply WOW gamers with a routed static IP for the month of August.

Please remember that this is only to keep you in the game till the subsea cable is repaired.

All WOW guys must please mail me their user names, location e.g. JHB, and UTID numbers which are on the device.

Please note that this is only for Gauteng. DBN and CPT are already on the correct routes.

We will assist till end of August whereupon the statics will be removed.

Should the subsea cable be repaired before then the statics will be withdrawn.

Better get those mails rolling tonight so we can get them activated tomorrow.

The activations cannot happen over a weekend.

Hoping you guys raid like crazy the weekend.

I saw something about L3 undersea cable but I don't understand completely what the problem is and how a static ip is supposed to help . Also how secure is it to send our account info?

Guys, please do not post your info on the forum.

E-mail it to me. All I require is your UTID, location and username.

And mailing me is secure.

Thanks

Hi guys.

Dont mind letting you have the static for the month. you need to give me feedback on the forums though.

Is that fair?

Hi Guys

Anything to help with latency, it always stinks according to the rest of the world..help!!!! its killing me being a fanatic active wow player

Mina

Sorry Sylas.

Gauteng only.

Are you experiencing high latency in Somerset West?

Let me know. Could be a quality of signal issue.

With that we can also assist.

This is a very nice surprise, thanks Shaun. Pulling a spiderman move over my desk to get my UTID.

hey Shaun

Thx For getting the statics ip's in made a huge Difference, did A 25man raid last night with out any dc's or lag spikes

Thanks Shaun,

awsome news - just hope I can get converted by CoB today (only saw the post now argggghhh).

If this makes such a big difference, why do only WoW players get this?

It's not because a static ip would provide any better latency in general, it only allows better latency in WoW in this particular instance as it's being specially routed through different upstream providers (as it appears the default have a cable fault interfering with wow but nothing else - of note).

So it wouldn't make sense for people who didn't benefit from it to get it ya know?

And more thanks to Shaun - sorted me out before close-of-business so weekend is looking good :)
Cant wait to get home and check the ingame latency.

Really commendable (as previously posted) and yes it'd only help those needing good ping time to a gameserver; it makes no difference if a website takes half a second longer if u've clicked on a link to actually start loading (u'd prolly not even realise it) - makes a huge difference if ure watching things in a game with half a second delay though ;p

thanks to Shaun and iBurst on this

Keeper as what basjohn said, it only effects you if you going through level3 to Europe playing WoW. I DONT get latency issue on other mmorpgs cause they dont go through level3 to the servers, only WoW does, hence why this static ip works as MTNBusiness does NOT go through level3 at all to Europe with WoW.
