Hi guys,

Tonight I went to Game store at Menlyn and bought a Samsung NC10 netbook. :) I thought I'll be getting the 6 cell battery that everybody has. When I got home then I realised it's the 3 cell version  If I want a 3 cell netbook, I could have buy a Acer Aspire One at a lower price.

Then after checking this thread at sammynetbook.com, I noticed I'm not the only victim. It seems all these NC10 that are on special sale are the 3 cell version. I don't know about the one at www.nivo.co.za because they're similarly priced.

After checking the Game promotion papers, they actually didn't mention anything about the battery / battery life. Now I wonder if I can return the netbook tomorrow, claiming that's not the product I want  In actual fact, I never even switch it on.

The product number of the 3 cell version is KA02ZA (Black colour). The I saw at Game is white (KA01ZA). I want the 6 cell version in Black, because the white one looks like it will get dirty easily.

Thanks for the heads up was actually looking to get 1 of these for campus.

Game has excellent product return policies and should take it back no problem. I once purchased a Amp, dvd player & speakers from game and when I got home I came to the conclusion I don't like it. Took it back the next day no questions asked after I had already opened all the boxes and tested the kit.

3 cell battery and no bluetooth

I tried to call Samsung South Africa support but they don't work on weekends. The support section of the website doesn't work. Under the notebook pc FAQ section, there's no model number to be selected after you pressed the send mail button, and the site doesn't allow you to send in a complaint if you don't select a model number.

So I went to Game to complain about the battery. They don't have a clue about the difference between a 3 cell and a 6 cell battery. One guy even commented that a small laptop doesn't need a "big" 6 cell battery

Eventually the floor manager said he will call their supplier on Monday to get more info. He doesn't seems too keen to exchange it with a 6 cell version or to refund me.

After I found out I can get a cheap unofficial 9 cell battery from Hong Kong, I gave into the temptation and switched the machine, And...

Now I discovered there's no bluetooth module :eek: -> :( -> :mad:

I definitely need to report Samsung/Game to hellopeter.com and to call Samsung again tomorrow morning.

Guys, if you want the full featured model, I guess you'll need to get the white KA01ZA model.

If you want a beautiful shiny black one, but no bluetooth and with a 3 cell battery, get the black NC10-KA02ZA model

I've been looking for the black one online for a while now. Guess I'll have to purchase it in a physical store to avoid any shena****ns.

Why? Did Game state that the model had bluetooth?

Samsung is pulling a fast one with the black NC10s. They are even telling the dealers there's no difference between the white and the black versions. A dealer I'm working through opened one of the stock he'd received and found exactly what pug306 had - 3-cell battery and no blue tooth.

Thanks for the warning pug!

Those with NC10s, how does photoshop run on these machines? Anyone tried them with windows7?
