For some odd reason, while watching a movie clip on zoopy my IS account downloading on grabit sped up to a consistant rate, where as it normally fluctuates alot on low speeds.

while watching the clip the little blue graph at the bottem is full, then when i cancel the movie it starts to get those jaggerd lines again going on and off, i buff the movie again and it starts to download normal.

Is it because maybe the connection is opening full and being able to download better having more bandwidth come through the line?

seems like watching zoopy movies makes ur grabit faster..lol...you can try it check it out, let me know if it happens for you guys too...

Its the IS one,,i tested it like 5 times,, and evertime i buffed a movie my speed would change to open ,, stop the movie and it would fluctuate again

Ok, i just did it again right now to double check and i swear it opens my line up, while the movie is buffering. if i close the zoopy website then my graph shows the jaggersd lines again wich is like the connection goes on and off every second , people who are on IS will know what it looks like in grabit.

when the movie starts to buff again the jaggerd lines are gone and i get a consistant download rate that does'nt go on and off.

Ok the speed is still not great i dont get my full line speed, but if the connection is going on and off and and lets say i am downlaoding 100 megs, it would take twice as long to downlaod that way, and when the connection is download without it going on and off everysecond then it would download normal,,if you know what i mean.

I am mentioning this hoping that maybe someone who knows much more than i do can maybe look into it and maybe there is a way to work around as to why it does it and maybe someone can fix it so that the speed is better on IS.

I know i found something here, just dont know much about it..and it is really strange

no i am downlaoding something totaly different on grabit than what i am watching on zoopy,i can choose any random clip and they are 2 seperate things, and then this happens.

But ya maybe zoopy is hosted on IS or something hence why it opens the line up when you buff from it

just because the graph doesn't fluctuate doesn't mean speeds are good, it could be a stable 2kbps connection??are your speeds increasing(same peak speed but stable) or a slow stable speed?

i will see what i can do about a clip so you okes can see, but know that it does'nt make the download rate any faster, what i see is it does'nt give you the 00.0 KB/s every second or so then back and forth between of lets say 10.0 KB/s. so in a way it would sort of be making it faster than what it allready is, by having the download contunously run at 10. KB/s

ok i am busy uploading the clip i made,,,i never got a loss though in my download rate, cause mine pretty much fluctuates between 4.0KB/s and 10.oKB/s regardless if i am buffing from zoopy or not.

Technically while its buffering and you dont get those spikes, it means you downloading faster than while having the spikes. cause u get a 0.00KB/s downlaod rate every 2 seconds or so.

Yeah but I have also read/seen it mentioned that the grabit graph is really just for indication purposes and is not highly accurate. It may just be giving an incorrect reading when the buffer is happening. Perhaps it is reading that buffer as an increased download speed.

no,, even while using alt.binz and nzbpro,,gives lag spikes aswell, i know its an average graph, and could be slightly in-accurate but would not be by much. Its still gives a very close and good rating as too whats happening on the line.

OK,, let me explain what you seeing here,, first of all you will see the spikes in the graph while no buffering is happening on zoopy, then i will load a clip in zoopy and let it buff for awhile and you will notice how the graph will show a constant download rate with no spikes while the movie is playing, then i will stop the clip and you will see the spikes come back with the 0.00KB/s in between it gets abit worse than what u see so you will only see alittle of it there, then i will load another zoopy clip and then the graph will show another constant downlaod rate while its buffering.

Even while i was uplaoding this clip to zoopy, i got the same effect, only thing is it trippled the download rate to about 19KB/s for quite some time, and then averaged around 11-14 KB/s
