PS3 40gb for R2999 at IC

Maybe get one as a Spare. Would be cheaper than buying the parts. LOL.

oops... Don't even want to know why there's a table called Table.

LOL @ errors!

On that price...40GB was discontinued ages ago...so thats old stock. Dunno how they still have such old stock? Anyways...for someone looking for a bargain with not much cash to spare...its a good buy...but Id rather pay extra for a 60/80GB...as that 40GB has prob been sitting for a year or 2?

Since Incredible corruption marks their prices so high, its no wonder they got old stock. R2999.00 looks like a bargain but usually the devil is in the detail.

Nice lil saying there... :D Heard that they (40Gb models) are sold without the 1 year warranty...that it has a 30 day warranty cos they are discontinued. Is this true?

Typical Incredible Corruption.

Ah, it gets more interesting.

Eish. I would be frightened to buy any electronic gadget if that were true. I wonder what Sony's take on this is, surely the warranty (with Sony) only kicks in on the moment of purchase?

Its a good point you made there. All warranty on electronic hardware only kick in on date of purchase. I am not sure about discontinued hardware though. :erm:

Serial numbers are only logged with SK once the machine is sold giving you 12 months from when purchased... If you're worried, call partserve when you buy it to confirm

My thoughts would be to pay the extra few hundred rand and get the slim instead. Some of the 40GB uses the old chipset so YLOD can still be a threat.

It seems it has been deleted.

That whole fusking website is a disgrace.

Slim!

40GB model is almost guaranteed to have Blu-ray laser failure or YLOD. Not flame bait, but borne out of fact seeing as I service consoles for a living and the 40gb and 60gb PS3 models regularly pass by my workshop.
