iBurst Service Rant
I have been trying for the past two weeks to get my month-to-month contract coverted to a 24 month contract. I have left numerous messages with consultants because the systems were down and sent about 2 e-mails a day, but no response from iBurst. Its seems as though they don't want more business.

Hi Megalin

Please send me your account detail so that I can assist you further.

Thanks

Why-oh-WHY would you WANT to convert to a 24 month hell-tinged lock-in?

Stay on a month to month for now... I cannot help but feel that any long-term contract lock-in now with any provider is not a wise thing to do.

There are so many changes on the horizon, if not in the next 6 months, then at least within the next year, that would mean a great deal of regret for any 24 month broadband / internet contract signing.

Especially with a "service" like iBurst.

I would advise stay month-to-month and see what transpires!

I think they are running round like chickens with their heads cut off :D!!

That's the best advice you could get at this time.

Take it easy until November.

There is still glitches to sort out, until then don't move.

Changes to the iBurst network?

My only concern is that the existing modems won't work if/when they upgrade.

btw - what is up with the iBurst connection speed the last couple of days?

Changes to the billing system and price drops.

When iBoss is running 100%, then we will hear about new packages/prices.

I'm sure our modems will still be compatible, it's like DSTV asking us to throw away our decoders, because they have the new HD decoder.

It wouldn't be a smart move from iBurst.

Yes, I have noticed slower DL and UP speeds lately, especially during the day.

Also getting a few errors with Facebook lately, I don't know if it's a iBurst or a Facebook problem.

Whenever I get problems loading pages lately, I disconnect and reconnect and that usually sorts out the problems of loading a page/website.

Thanks for the info, useful :-)

I'll try the connect/disconnect (possibly switching off for 5-10 minutes again).

I had some issue with Vodacom 3G and Facebook months ago, had to do with caching of content if I'm not mistaken (they did not include some javascript and css).

What type of errors are you getting with Facebook?

Something went wrong. We're working on getting this fixed as soon as we can. You may be able to try again.

Transport error (#502) while retrieving data from endpoint `/ajax/feed_tracking_pagecache.php': Unknown HTTP error #502

Anyone else getting this lately with Facebook?

Hi guys.

If you experience any issues with certain sites please disconnect (Power down) your device for 10 minutes and then reconnect. Our Core guys have spotted something and are narrowing it down.
