So you morons at vodacom sms me, from VODACOM23... fine... i choose the opt out feature... silence....

1 month later you idiots decide its ok to start smsing me again, now because i have an iphone it shows me all the past communication with your SPAM.. so i can see i have already opted out. WHAT THE F IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE

I receive these "VODACOM23" rubbish every now and then, but i don't reply cos i think they make lots of money out of these opt out replies. (AFAIK.)

Opt out is free, but yes I too have unsubscribed twice from the Vodacom23 list. So I don't believe it is actually working.

@VodacomData I have sent you my details. Rather than simply removing me from the list I want to know what in your system is causing people to be spammed even after opting out. Clearly there is a system fault somewhere.

according to waspa

5.1.5. Once a recipient has opted out from a service, a message confirming the opt-out should be sent to that recipient. This message must reference the specific service that the recipient has opted-out from, and may not be a premium rated message.

So if they don't reply to your opt out sms, complain on waspa, lets get them fined

Or not.

Same here... opted out a few months back, got a reply that I was opted out... and i've got two more since. I got one about 30 seconds ago with lame typing "Make that sUmMEr Connection with Vodacom and stand a chance...."

ERGH!!!

The message says it's free to opt out. If I have to do this one more time.... actually that's an idle threat, there's nothing I can do. I need to stick a spam filter on my phone... only there isn't one:/

Is this VODACOM23 number even subject to WASPA?

I've sent the opt out SMS, but haven't received a reply.

Yeah, I got that same one. This after receiving a bunch this week about getting free airtime when you top up.

I'm sick of it.

Isn't it amazing that when Vodacom wants to push advertising to their clients they seem to know our phone numbers and have no problem making contact BUT should they be experiencing a problem do they ever contact us to tell us? I tried opting out of those things before and they just ignore you. We are Vodacom WE SHALL ADVERTISE TO YOU !!!!

VODACOM23, those free airtime messages they keep spamming me with
My spam log says the last one sent to me was on the 14/9/09.
I've given up opting out and have resorted to blacklisting the originator. It seems I get less from Vodacom23 that way. They've subsequently added me to the SVS (short voice service) SPAM instead, with its own opt-out number. So the conclusion is that you can try and opt out to one, then they'll just send you a different message from a new originating number with its own opt-out number.
