Placing ads in major newspaper

ThankS rmp , peapod and others for your relentless fight for the rights of broadband customers present and future.
To apply more pressure on TELKOM we as a forum can place ads in major national newspapers, explaining our position and debunking any press release from Mr. White and company. I would be willing to contribute financially toward that goal and am sure many member of this forum have similar sentiments. Is it possible to set up an SMS premium number that can by used by members to donate a specific amount lets say R5-00 toward placing the ads or any other action.
LETS ALL PUT SOME MONEY TOWARDS FIGHTING TELKOM MONOPOLY

I'm keen, but do newspapers allow this sort of thing - i.e. placing an Ad from a consumer group? Maybe it could go in as a "Public Message" or something. Has anyone got an idea of the cost of these ads?

If you've got the cash...no problem. The Star ran an ad by the SAA Pilots association this week..
 
Remember the ISUZU guy who spent R20000 shafting ISUZU? Newspapers will publish if you will pay
 
That guy who spent R20000, bought half a page in a major publication! that is HUGE
so it wont be that much. Im willing to contribute cash if i must!!!!

20 000 divided by 1000 members .. R 20 each.

I think we can get 1000 members to contribute. That is 1 in every 5.

This is something I've been thinking about for a while. I definitely think we should do it, so count me in.
 
Yes, absolutely. I will contribute R50.
But don't use an sms premium rated number. Most of the cost for the sms goes to the cellular network and service provider.
A bank account will do just fine.

A wee bit difficult to open one in the 3 hours this thread has been open for.
 
The problem is that we'll probably need multiple newspapers for the different areas

CT: Cape Times
JHB: Not sure about newspapers there but what about The Sun?
KZN: Don't have a clue about those newspapers :p
 
Anyone got an idea of what it should be? Prehaps an open letter to the presidence, the department of communications and all political parties.

It seemed to work for the landrover guy - and if it causes enough uproar then the parties will be stumbiling over themselves to support us ....

BTW - has rpm even had his view? :p
