ADSL hardly broadband these days! Slow Internet in Centurion...

I know it should be slower during the daytime, but FFS this is just getting me all cranky! :mad:

WTF! 30s to a minute for www.telkomsa.net to load? All sites are that slow now, but for reference purposes I check out www.telkomsa.net every now and again! It is SLOW!!!!!

The Internet feels slower in general these days!

This from Telkom's own speed test:

Download time: 82.672 seconds
Size of file: 500 KiloBytes
Estimated line speed: 49.4 (kilobits/second)
Estimated line speed: 6 (kiloBytes/second)

Just reported it to Telkom. They are not aware of anything. As Adlo asked, anybody have access to SAIX noticeboard?

Anybody else experiencing this?
 
Telkom has more issues than a reders digest.. should come right when someone notices there's a problem.. someday.. ahh the joys of a 128:1 contention.
 
My speed on dailup has also deteriorated! :mad: Something must be seriously wrong in Centurion!

Well if your ISP is TelkomInternet then at least you know you're not capped! :D
 
My connection dropped at 12 on the dot (midrand, openISP)

At first when resetting router to default it connected to Telkom.co.za (big deal) at least knew that nothing physically wrong with line, now it does nothing.



Anybody got any ideas?
 
Same here Adlo... and I am still waiting for their call back...
 
I know... As long as they just fix my damned internet. I want money back at the end of the month for this inconvenience!
 
I'm also in Centurion.

Logged fault last night....still waiting
512 going as fast as a 56K modem
ISP Telkom Internet

Since there seem to be quite a couple of members in Centurion, is it maybe an idea to start a wifi project there? Or is there one already?
