So I'm thinking about going to one of those IS accounts, where you can 28GB local, question is, what can I do with that 28GB local?

Well if you work from home and use a portal to connect to the servers in your head office, a lot I say

I've had excellent service from IS. get yourself a local proxy service for international and you're set. I'm on 50gb local and still going strong. :D

Download speeds are good. Not GREAT but good.

My cost /month are R165(ISP) + R360(HELLKOM) + R100(PROXY) = R625.

Which proxy service is that ?

R165(ISP) .. how much international is that ?

so you didn't get hardcapped after 30 gigs?

Gabbadude, does your proxy allow p2p? Otherwise, how did you manage to download that much?

If you have to ask that question then you probably dont need the account and could opt for a lower bandwidth cheaper package.

Nope, I just wanna get the best value for my rands. If it was 30GB international then I would probably use p2p or torrents etc. As I am not in any of the online "clicks", I don't know of any local sites, or can't get an invite to any of those to actually download anything. Now just imagine if everyone had access to those sites, we could all go to IS, and give Telkom the 2 finger salute. Actually I think this deserves a new thread.

Ahh sorry, wasnt trying to be facetious, I cant help you out there.
I use my bandwidth mainly internationaly and on local gaming. Due to cost of bandwidth in SA the content available on local sites is very poor sadly.

visit the SAIX downloads page... alot of cool stuff you can get there, that would be for me anyways, demo's etc... they have not been updating as much as they had in the past though :(

so what do you do with 28 gigs of local lol
yes there is. enough for everybody

So give us some info on local p2p. I know of 8 people with IS accounts interested in getting in on these sites.

I heard that local p2p and torrents are getting really big. They are still "hush-hush" and all of my efforts to get on board have been in vain.

It seems like the normal excuse is: "What are YOU going to share? You are just going to leech."

But: If you let me download from your torrent, I will leave my torrent open for other nice South African people to download from...

I have plenty to share, but I'm still left in the dark about local p2p. So what gives?
